Charity of the Month | Cup-O-T
As we enter February our journey to honour and support local charities in Norfolk through our exclusive printed calendar continues. Representing February is Cup-O-T who provide free wellness and therapy services and community projects to young people and families in Norfolk.
Cup-O-T: Wellness and Therapy Services specialise in early and preventative mental health therapy and workshops for young people, families, and communities. The charity offers outdoor-based occupational therapy programmes as well as family and community sessions across Norfolk. Their programmes are designed to empower young people aged 7 to 25 and families, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives. They focus on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of young people helping them to make lasting changes to their lives and to play a positive role in their communities.
In 2018 Cup-O-T invested in a Ford transit van which they converted into a calming therapy space. The charity uses the van to run workshops during events and also provides therapy appointments to the wider community online or at a location convenient to the recipient.
The charity currently offers three programmes including, Woodland Therapy Groups which provides individual therapy sessions and therapeutic community workshops in their beautiful woodland space, Family Sessions in Breckland which brings families together to promote positive mental health, and a Community Therapy Group for young people ages between 13 and 25 who have recently been or are working towards being discharged from a mental health service. The group therapy is designed to help young people navigate life after being discharged by helping to manage their mental well-being, share experiences, and explore activities that can empower them.
Why did we choose Cup-O-T?
We’ve worked with Cup-O-T for many years, supporting them with their vehicle graphics. The service they provide is incredible. It’s been a pleasure to work with them and to help them to be seen more as they drive across Norfolk supporting communities, young people and families. We’re giving a little something back to them by raising awareness throughout February.
